Cryotherapy uses nitrous oxide or liquid nitrogen to freeze internal or external hemorrhoids. This is a painless procedure and is fairly quick – it takes only about 5 minutes. This treatment is done using an instrument called a cryoprobe in hopes of necrotizing the tissue to the point that it falls off.
